Jupiter Police Organization

The following information on the various divisions and units within the police department should provide some helpful insight on the diversity of services performed by the Jupiter Police Department.

Uniform Patrol:The Uniform Patrol Division Commander is responsible for some of the most necessary units within the agency which ensure that efficient and highly professional levels of service are provided to the citizens of Jupiter such as Road Patrol (Uniform) and Police Service Aides.

Administrative:The Administrative Services Division Commander is responsible for the Fleet Maintenance, Internal Affairs, Payroll, Evidence and Property, Personnel, Grants, Police Service Aids, Records, Recruitment, and Training.

Operational Support: The Operational Support Division Commander is responsible for providing some of the most vital support units within the agency. These units include, the Beach Unit, Criminal Investigation, Forensics and Crime Scene Investigation, K-9, Marine Unit, Street Crimes Unit, Traffic Unit, Special Response Team, Hostage Negotiation Team, and the Underwater Recovery Unit. 

Agency Planning & Analysis: The Planning and Analysis Division Commander leads the agency in technology innovations, policy development, acquisition of alternative resources, strategic planning, Crime Analysis, Public Records management, and Legal Issues.

Executive Lieutenant: The Executive Lieutenant is responsible for supervising the day to day operations of the Community Activities Unit and the Volunteers in Policing program. This Lieutenant also oversees purchasing as well as the planning of special events and projects through out the year.

The Jupiter Police Department is made up of several different components, all of which contribute significantly to the overall police service provided to the community. Several of these division and units go unnoticed by the average citizen, but as with any successful organization, each employee, regardless of his or her assignment, has a tremendous responsibility to the overall outstanding reputation that the Jupiter Police Department maintains with its citizens, and the law enforcement community.
