About Jupiter
The Town of Jupiter is a coastal community that was incorporated in 1925 and consists of 45,000 year round residents on over 22 square miles. Jupiter is located on the Atlantic Ocean on the southeast coast of Florida and continues to be one of the fastest growing municipalities in Palm Beach County and has traditionally ranked as one of the top growth areas in the country.
The Police Department is headed by Chief Frank Kitzerow and consists of over 100 sworn officers and 50 civilian support staff personnel. The Department prides itself on remaining innovative and at the cutting edge of modern policing techniques. With that innovation comes the diversification of specialized units available for assignment to sworn officers. Some of these units include: Uniform Patrol, Criminal Investigations, Traffic Enforcement (Motorcycle) Unit, Bicycle Patrol, Marine Enforcement Unit, K-9, ATV Beach Patrol, Community Activities Unit, Crime Prevention and Underwater Recovery.
Each employee contributes in their unique way to the overall effectiveness of all police services provided to the members of this community.
